Plans that developed from mediation between the developer, 313 Woodland Place LLC, and Save Leonia Zoning — an 800-person internet petition — were returned to the board for review after the two parties reached a tentative agreement, Northjersey.com said.
The property is the site of the former Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, which closed after more than 30 years there.
Joe Bevacqua, now chairman of Save Leonia Zoning, said the new plan is not ideal but has the least impact on the neighborhood of the compromises considered, Northjersey.com said.
Bevacqua said with the new approvals in place Save Leonia Zoning will drop its lawsuit.
